We said he was playing for his future here with Emerson fit again, and Alonso has reminded us all of what he can do with this crucial goal. He kept it low and hard against a dodgy keeper and forced the ball in.
It was the least we deserve for a period where we’ve had a ton of chances. Alonso had been booed by Newcastle supporters all game, and now he has the sweetest revenge.
