Frank Lampard is showing himself to be very honest and straightforward in Chelsea’s pre and post match press conferences, and last night was no different.
The Chelsea boss went out and answered straight away about how his team had performed against Newcastle.
“It was a bit safe in the first half,” the boss said of a timid first period performance which, as he says, saw the team move the ball around nicely but not really threaten.
“That was the message at half time,” he went on – take players on, move the ball faster, create chances.
It worked wonders, and the message really got through to the players, who went up a gear and got the win.
