The talk of the town right now is Chelsea winger Willian and whether he will be signing a new contract at the club, or whether he will end up leaving on a free transfer this summer.
The 31-year old’s contract ends at Chelsea in June, and he will be free to agree a deal to join a new club from January, meaning their are just a few months for a contract to be agreed should that be the goal.
The Evening Standard reported back in July that Willian and Chelsea had ‘agreed a new contract’, but since then, we have not heard anything more on the subject other than rumours of him leaving.
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard was coy on Willian’s future when questioned this week, but said he was happy with him on the pitch.
The Blues winger himself has been similarly coy when questioned on the situation, as reported by Sky Sports.
He said:
“No, no, nothing. [But] yes, I am still relaxed. I am calm, I am relaxed. I wait for the club.”
