The bad run under Frank Lampard finally broken by Arsenal win

Chelsea beat Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium yesterday, falling behind and playing terribly for large periods before taking advantage of a huge error from the opposition goalkeeper to draw level, before winning the game moments later on the break.

It was by no means a good performance overall, but the spirit the team showed in digging in and forcing a win was notable. Amazingly, these are the first points we’ve won from a losing position all season in the Premier League.

That shows progress at least, and while we didn’t play well for most of the game, we still had enough about us to beat a nominal “top 6” team.

That is also progress, as we’ve struggled in those game so far. Again, we can’t get too far ahead of ourselves are we were genuinely dire for 35 minutes and hardly sparkling in the rest of the game – but these are all important learning experiences for a young team and a rookie manager.
