Frank Lampard likely to stick with 4 at the back after Arsenal win

It’s very easy to criticise after watching things go wrong, but Frank Lampard made a big error today with his starting line up, and he will know it.

Chelsea managed to comeback from 1-0 down to beat Arsenal 2-1 in their own backyard today, and what a win it was.

The game was emphatic and Chelsea probably edged it over all and eventually managed to control the game as they have done on so many occasions this season.

But the first 30 minutes was a different story. Lampard started with the 3-4-3 formation once again and it proved to be a mistake, just like it was at Southampton in their last match.

Lampard’s side struggled to play out and without that extra deep lying midfielder, they could not control the play at all.

Lampard and his coaching team luckily saw the mistake early on and bought Jorginho on to change it to a 4-3-3, and that literally won them the game.

I don’t think Lampard will be making that mistake again, with his team visibly much more comfortable with 4 at the back.
