Chelsea managed to squeeze three points from their game at the Emirates last night, turning their festive nightmare back into a positive mood, but there’s still some way to go.
After some truly horrific defeats to weak teams in recent games, we now head to play Brighton – on Wednesday, amazingly.
There is no time to rest, and with our squad stretched thing, fans are desperate to see three of our injured options return.
Most importantly, Christian Pulisic needs to shake off a minor issue picked up in the warm down after the loss to Southampton. We need that depth and injection of pace and fresh legs in the front three.
Secondly, Reece James’ attacking influence is needed at right back to give Cesar Azpilicueta a break during this hectic period of the season.
Equally, Marcos Alonso – who hasn’t had the best season – would be very useful in allowing Frank Lampard to leave Emerson on the bench after he was hauled off after an hour yesterday.
Even the return of just one of this trio would lift the weight on the rest of the squad.
