(Video): Mateo Kovacic’s “Fabregas” pass for Chelsea’s opening goal

Mateo Kovacic was Chelsea’s best player on the pitch against Hull City tonight, and his highlight reel moment came after just 5 minutes.

The Croatian midfielder picked up the ball in his own half, looked up and bent a superb raking pass over the whole Tigers team to pick out the advancing Cesar Azpilicueta on the far side.

Some credit has to go to Callum Hudson-Odoi for dragging Eric Lichaj inside, but the pass was pure Croatian class from our number 17.

One user on Twitter called it a “Fabregas pass”, and we totally agree, it had all the right ingredients.
