It may have resulted in the visible damage above, but the referee, and VAR decided it was OK.
That’s really quite unbelievable for us. He may not have meant it, but anything that can cause damage of this level is definitively dangerous, and therefore a red.
Honestly, considering we saw Harry Maguire stay on the pitch on Monday after kicking one of our players in the unmentionables, this really was hard to swallow.
Is there anyone out there thinking this wasn’t a straight red? Apart from Spurs fans…
