“We’ll prepare to hurt them a lot” – Kovacic issues battle cry ahead of Bayern test

Chelsea are getting set for the biggest test of their season so far, coming up against Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

The Blues were the underdogs when they beat them in the final of Champions League in 2012, and they will very much consider themselves as the underdogs again when they meet in the knockout stages of the same competition tomorrow night.

Chelsea beat Tottenham at the weekend and will certainly draw some confidence from that game. But tomorrow will be a completely different test for Frank Lampard and his players, going up against some real world class players.

Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic is playing some of the best football of his career and is arguably one of The Blues best performers so far this season.

The Croatian international is ready for tomorrow, and as reported by Football London, he is ‘preparing to hurt’ Bayern!

Kovacic was alongside Lampard tonight taking media questions for the press conference, he said:

“We’ll analyse it [the key to beating Bayern] this evening. The coach will show us their strengths and where we can hurt them. Their league is not as tough as the Premier League so will be more rested than us. We’ll prepare to hurt them a lot.”

He was also complimentary of his boss…

“I’m playing a good season under him [Lampard]. I can do even more. I have good communication with him, working on my bad sides. Analysing my game. I’m becoming a better player but normal because I am getting more mature.”
