Chelsea are interested in Man Utd youngster Angel Gomes.

That’s according to an “exclusive” in the Metro, who claim to have inside knowledge that the midfielder is planning on leaving Old Trafford this summer when his contract expires.

Young Gomes has long been considered one of the brightest prospects in English youth football, and losing him just when he’s on the cusp of first team football would be a huge blow to the Red Devils.

However the 19 year old has seen others jump ahead of him in the queue for minutes this season, and might well be looking at the chances afforded to young Chelsea players this season with envy.

18 year old Billy Gilmour is the latest to make an impact, following in the footsteps of 6 other academy players who have featured under Frank Lampard this season.

If Chelsea have truly turned the corner and gone from youth graveyard to tempting the best youngsters from other clubs, we can already consider this season a huge success regardless of where we finish.
