Bizarre article lists Conor Gallagher and Jude Bellingham among Chelsea’s possible wide options next season

We’re over a month without football now, and it’s a tough time for us all, but this really is going a little far.

The Daily Mail have just published a piece that seems to have been written by someone who’s never watched football – ideal for a time like this.

It’s about Chelsea’s options in the wide areas next season, and it starts very sensibly. With Pedro and Willian on the way out, there will be a new pecking order out wide.

Yes, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic are already in place as probably the first choice options, we agree with that. Hakim Ziyech is up next, and while he can see him playing as an 8 or a 10, we’re sure he will feature out wide at times too once he’s playing for us. Kenedy is also listed, but that looks very unlikely. We would be shocked if he isn’t sold this summer – but he is at least a winger by trade.

Then there are some signings we could make – Jadon Sancho, Phil Coutinho, Dries Mertens. All fair enough.

The two which are truly bizarre are Jude Bellingham and Conor Gallagher. they are both central midfielders, yet here they are included on a list of wingers.

They’re not even particularly creative midfielders, both of them playing in more of a box to box style.

This lack of footie has us all going mad. Let’s take a deep breath.
