Chelsea striker ready for transfer would be “match made in heaven” for rival club

It’s seemed inevitable for some time that Michy Batshuayi will be leaving Chelsea.

The striker has had a few seasons – including the majority of this one – as second choice striker, without even really putting pressure on the incumbent.

It looks like he’s finally going to move on this summer – or at least it did before the entire world of football was thrown into chaos by coronavirus.

Football.London are still reporting that a deal with West Ham would be a “match made in heaven” for both player and club. While we appreciate that it’s written by their Hammers correspondent, and that Batshuayi needs a move from Stamford Bridge, it’s hard to see why it would be so perfect.

Frankly, apart from one little spell at Borussia Dortmund on loan, the Belgian hasn’t been very good for about 5 years now. West Ham have a struggling but promising attacking option in Sebastien Haller.

We’d love them to take Michy off our hands – we’re just not sure it would work out as well as this particular writer seems to think.
