Michy Batshuayi, Emerson Palmieri and Ross Barkley all potential revenue raisers

It will be very interesting to see how Chelsea operate in the transfer market this summer.

The Blues have not been able to spend any money for over a year, and have cash burning a hole in their pocket.

They also have some very established options to potentially sell and bump up their cash reserves even further.

Michy Batshuayi, Ross Barkley and Emerson Palmieri, for example, all have uncertain futures at the Bridge, but could raise big money if sold. They’re prime age, Premier League level players, and even in a depressed market would expect to raise £20m or so a head.

Batshuayi is an interesting case – the club have Tammy Abraham as established first choice, Olivier Giroud looking set to stay as a backup, and will probably look to sign a big name forward too.

It makes Batshuayi look like an almost certain departure, but finding a taker for him in this market will be difficult. It may be another year on loan for the Belgian.
