“Two top European clubs” from outside Italy contact Jorginho’s agent about transfer

The endless flirtation between Jorginho’s agent and the media continues, with Joao Santos now claiming there is interest from outside Italy.

Maurizio Sarri left Chelsea just under a year ago, and the rumours connecting the former Napoli boss, now at Juve, with a bid for the man he brought to Chelsea, have been pretty much non stop ever since.

Certainly a move to Turin seems the most likely, if anything happens this summer.

But Santos isn’t stopping there, and in quotes picked up by the Mirror today he puts forward the idea that there is interest from outside Italy in his client:

“Jorginho still has three years left on his contract and is doing well at Chelsea, but if a big-enough offer comes in then a deal could go through.

“In this sense, two top European clubs, not Italian ones, contacted me.”

That may be entirely true, but we wouldn’t jump to the conclusion that a deal is coming anytime soon. “Contact” doesn’t mean much, and in fact may simply mean that they asked how much the Blues would ask for their midfield coordinator.

There is a sense that we would sell, but given how much we pad two summers ago, and given how badly affected the transfer market is likely to be by the coronavirus pandemic, it’s hard to imagine us receiving a satisfactory offer for the former Napoli man.
