Chelsea turned down by Juventus midfielder – but may look for further reinforcements

Miralem Pjanic has apparently turned down a move to Chelsea as he looks to force through a transfer from Juventus to Barcelona.

According to Marca, The Blues and PSG both put forward packages that the player himself turned down, before it even got to the stage of seriously negotiating a fee with his club.

Pjanic is determined to hold out for Barcelona, who seem to like the idea of signing him too, and will now feel confident they can secure an experienced addition to their midfield.

While Chelsea may have missed out in this case, it’s very interested to hear that they’ve been chasing a midfielder after all.

With so many centre-mids on the books already, one would assume a new one would only arrive if someone leaves too. Jorginho had appeared to be the favourite, and maybe if Pjanic does go to Barca and Juve buy our midfielder, a new avenue will be opened up for us to get an even better player than the Bosnian in.
