Some Chelsea fans upset by Bruno Fernandes diving in semi final clash

Chelsea have just played a very positive first half against Manchester United, dominating possession and creating the better chances, and eventually getting their reward.

In fact the Red Devils only threatened from set pieces through the whole 45 minutes, with Bruno Fernandes winning a couple of extremely soft free kicks to give his team a chance.

It initially looked like Cesar Azpilicueta had really caught the former Sporting player in the unmentionables hard – especially judging from the extended reaction Fernandes had to the clash.

But closer inspection revealed that it was a glancing blow at best – and the Spaniard may not have touched him at all. Similarly, the way he went down in instalments after Mateo Kovacic lunged in (but barely touched him) was wildly exaggerated.

Still, now we have the lead, nobody is going to be complaining too much. Now let’s finish the job.
