Chelsea set to hand number 10 shirt to Christian Pulisic

There has been a bit of squad number chatter today already, with Kai Havertz set to take his favoured 29 shirt off Fikayo Tomori when the defender goes to Everton on loan.

Now it sounds like the most coveted shirt in the squad of all is going to change hands too. After enjoying a year in the 10, Willian has gone to Arsenal, and according to Simon Johnson of the Athletic (as you can see below), Christian Pulisic will get it next.

It seems a fair reward for the American, who pushed on from a slow start to end the season as our most important player. The creativity and exciting play he showed between the lines makes him more than worthy of the mythical 10.

We already had a clue of this before, when we saw Hakim Ziyech wearing Pulisic’s old 22 shirt in the friendly against Brighton last weekend, but now it’s effectively confirmed.
