“He will be back” – Football world reacts to Frank Lampard sacking

Well, it’s happened.

Frank Lampard’s time at Chelsea has come to an abrupt end, with the Blues manager sacked after a year and a half in charge. The rumours started this morning, and the news has already been confirmed officially by Chelsea, complete with a club statement and everything.

It’s not surprising, given our recent run and given the club’s record of firing coaches, but it still cuts deep. The man is a legend of the club, and there’s a strong sense he hasn’t been treated fairly here.

Across the internet everyone had their views – from those who have been begging for him to go for months to those who think he’s been hard done by.

As far as we can see there’s only one thing everyone agrees on – his replacement will be Thomas Tuchel, formerly of PSG and Borussia Dortmund.

Let’s see how that one works out, shall we? “He will be back” said one Tweeter of our now ex-manager, and we hope that’s the case.
