West Ham to consider offers for previous Chelsea target

A number of clubs could be alerted to the latest words from West Ham boss David Moyes yesterday.

The Hammers boss was taking questions about one of his star players, and instead of ruling him out of any sale at all, Moyes actually conceded that the club will listen to offers for their main man.

We are of course talking about England international Declan Rice, who has been recently interesting Chelsea, as per The Telegraph back in January.

This reports suggests that West Ham are confident Chelsea’s pursuit of Rice will end after Frank Lampard got sacked. However, it doesn’t rule Chelsea out entirely.

Moyes does try to put a dampener on the situation though, suggesting that any fee to sign Rice will have to be monumental.

However as I pointed out, he could have point blankly ruled out any move, so these words could give any interested clubs some hope.

As reported by Goal, Moyes said:

“Yes, any club can make offers for players but we’ve not had any big offers,” he stated. “I hope we don’t get any but if we do, like any other club, we would consider them.

“I don’t know where the Bank of England is for Tomas Soucek but I’ve said with Declan, it would take the Bank of England and the Royal Bank of Scotland to get him. It will have to be the Bank of Czech as well for Tomas!”
