Billy Gilmour got his second start in a row under Thomas Tuchel tonight, and the Scot didn’t disappoint.
Just like last week, he took a while to get going, but once the team was playing well in the second period he really started controlling the tempo.
At full time he Tweeted a celebration of the win, and fans poured into the replies to praise his performance.
One supporter called it a “big performance,” and he certainly stepped up against top opposition today. He was always happy to take the ball off his defenders or play a dangerous pass over the top.
Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic will be back for the Champions League final, and possibly the FA Cup final too – but while he’s playing like this Billy is making a strong case for even more league minutes.
