Chelsea “intense” in pursuit of “missing player” Erling Haaland

Jan Aage Fjortoft was a decent player, but he’s almost a bigger name now he’s retired for one big reason – Erling Haaland.

The wonderkid striker is a fellow Norwegian, and that has made Fjortoft a kind of insider on Haaland’s future as he edges closer to a move away from Dortmund after 18 superb months in the Bundesliga.

In the past he’s teased us with various clues about Chelsea’s interest in signing the striker, but this time he’s gone a whole level further.

In a Tweet today he’s said that “Chelsea working intense” to get Haaland, with the club seeing him as the “missing player” for Thomas Tuchel’s already successful team.

The club are apparently confident they can get past the massive transfer fee, and more worried about the wages that Haaland – and his agent Mino Raiola – would demand.

Listen, if Roman wants him, we will get him. And that’s a fact.
