AC Milan in final stages of completing latest transfer from Chelsea as they look for Zlatan part two

Goal.com have just issued their latest Chelsea transfer update, and like so many of the recent editions, it’s focused on AC Milan.

They claim that the Italian club are making the “final push” to sign Olivier Giroud, a deal that sounds like it’s very close to being over the line from the way that their Chelsea correspondent Nizaar Kinsella describes it.

The 34 year old had his deal at Stamford Bridge extended last month, but that was simply a matter of ensuring he wasn’t able to leave on a free transfer, and did not indicate the club were intending to keep him.

Indeed, there have been reports that there is a gentleman’s agreement between the striker and Chelsea that he can go for a reasonable fee this summer.

It sounds like Milan are ready to offer that fee as they look to replicate the success they had with Zlatan Ibrahamovic in a similar situation last summer.
