There are just so many reasons that signing Erling Haaland will be difficult this summer.
Firstly, and most importantly, his club don’t want to sell. Dortmund are keen to hold on to him, and that makes things very difficult from the get-go for Chelsea.
Then there’s the fact that his agent in Mino Raiola, and that his father is also seemingly involved in negotiations and looking for a slice.
No matter how much Chelsea are willing to pay, it’s not going to be an easy deal to construct.
Perhaps that explains the growing rumours that Antoine Griezmann is a potential target, should Haaland prove unobtainable.
Caughtoffside report on the latest whispers that the Blues are in “pole position” to beat Man U to the signing of the Barcelona striker.
His case is the opposite – his club are desperate to get rid of him. That might just be the factor that makes him a more achievable target for Chelsea than Haaland.
