Chelsea player named in UEFA official team of Euro 2020

Chelsea started Euro 2020 with 17 players involved – more than any other club side in the world.

In the end they had 5 of them involved all the way in the final too, with 3 starting, so it’s no surprise that they’ve got a player in the official UEFA team of the tournament.

Jorginho was a key part of the Italy team that impressed right from the opening night of the competition, and he’s deserving of his place at the heart of the midfield of this fictional team.

Others impressed – Mason Mount and Emerson Palmieri impressed in their games, and Billy Gilmour shone in his only start – but nobody played more games at a higher standard than Jorgi, and he now has another honour to add to his two major trophies this season.

Let’s hope he can continue this form back with his club next season under Thomas Tuchel – after a well earned holiday of course.
