Chelsea have two double European Champions in the squad, but it’s heartbreak for three others

The European Championships 2020 finally concluded last night as Italy beat England on penalties.

Nobody likes penalties, and it was absolute heartbreak for England and the three young lads who missed the decisive penalties for England.

It was also heartbreak for three Chelsea boys, Mason Mount, Reece James, and Ben Chilwell. Mount played most the game, but James has barely featured under Southgate and Chilwell was lucky to make the bench the whole competition.

But there was better news from a Chelsea perspective for two other players, Joginho and Emerson Palmieri.

By helping Italy win last night, these two both became double European Champions this season after winning the Champions League with Chelsea at the end of the domestic season.

Jorginho has been colossal for Italy all tournament, and Emerson was great in his last two matches after coming in for the injured Leonardo Spinazzola.

As an England fan, I’m just glad we can now get the focus back on Chelsea!
