Andreas Christensen is a quiet guy who keeps a low profile, but just a month after winning the Champions League, he’s into the Euros semi final, and on a collision course with England.
The lad who is happy in the background is being forced to the fore, and there’s no question he’s stepping up. He was great as a sub for Thiago Silva in the Champions League final, and has continued that good form for his country at the Euros.
In the Guardian today he spoke about the facing England in the semis, and the shy Christensen wasn’t afraid to step up and claim that his side have a chance.
“I feel like we have the qualities to play against everyone. As a team, I would not say they are that much better,” Christensen said in the Guardian.
“Wembley is a stadium for big games. I have good and bad memories from there,” he explained, referring to some finals won and some finals lost with Chelsea.
He also revealed that Mason Mount had texted him asking why he couldn’t score stunning ranged goals for Chelsea like he did for Denmark against Russia.
