Olivier Giroud fee set at €2m with personal terms agreed and deal close

AC Milan are set to pay Chelsea €2m for Olivier Giroud, who will sign a two year deal at the Italian club.

A deal has been inching closer over the last few weeks, and now according to Fabrizio Romano it’s ready to complete, with personal terms “already agreed.”

Chelsea triggered the option to extend his deal for a year just a few weeks ago, which has stopped him leaving on a free and means they will get this small sum in compensation for his transfer.

Keeping him at the club also seems a wise move, but it seems like a “gentleman’s agreement” has already been concluded with Giroud to let him go and try to be a regular starter in these final years of his career.

He’s done better than anyone could have expected in his time here, and we wish him the greatest of success in Milan. Merci Olivier!
