West Ham ready to offer Declan Rice monster contract to keep Chelsea away from their prize asset

West Ham are ready to use the wage space created by the departure of Felipe Anderson to Lazio to sign Declan Rice to a monster new contract and ward off interest from Chelsea.

That’s according to the Sun, who say that Brazilian winger Anderson was on more than £100,000 a week, creating a decent bit of headroom to give Rice a huge raise.

The 22 year old was a key player for England at the Euros, and only improved his reputation as one of the most coveted central midfielders in the country.

He still seems keen on a move to Chelsea though, so it’s not impossible that he turns down the Hammers to push for a move west. But if we don’t make our move soon, the piles of money on the table will surely start to talk.

Rice is on holiday now – but his agent’s work is just beginning it would seem.
