One of the biggest reasons that I, and many others, advocated for Chelsea to sign Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid this transfer window was due to the recent injury history of our own, N’Golo Kante.
He has really been experiencing some bad luck with many small injuries in the last few seasons often seeing him miss crucial Chelsea matches. With the only other cover in that position being Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho, and as well as the fact we use two 6s, we really needed another option.
This opinion has already been backed up today as Get French Football News confirm that Kante has been replaced in the French squad for the current international break due to an ankle injury, the same one that saw him leave the pitch at half time for Chelsea vs Liverpool at the weekend.
