Tottenham and West Ham are facing off right now in a mid-table clash in the Premier League, and before the game David Moyes did an interview with Sky Sports where he spoke about the Hammers’ impressive form this season so far.
One player who has been key to their recent success is former Chelsea academy boy Declan Rice. The midfielder has endlessly been linked with a return to Chelsea, but according to Moyes, the Blues may have missed their best chance to sign him.
He said that Rice had been available as a £100m bargain” this summer – but smugly said that opportunity is “now gone.”

In the end, if Declan wants to come to us, he will in the end. He can always turn down new contracts and force a move eventually, even if it costs him in the short term.
But given Chelsea still look like they need strengthening in that area of the pitch, there’s no denying if we fall a little short this season and end up paying big money for Rice in the future, we may well wish we had bitten the bullet now.
