It was interesting to see Kepa picked out as the man to speak to Chelsea TV after the Blues beat Southampton on penalties – because we haven’t heard him interviewed in English much.
The reason it was him, really, was that he had made crucial saves in normal time and in the penalty shootout to keep his team in it.
Asked about those two stops right at the end, the Basque criticised his defence for the way they had defended those late set pieces.
It’s always refreshing to hear a player who is more focused on what they can do better than what they did well. Let’s get Kepa in for more interviews.
