Chelsea managed to beat Newcastle without some key players on the pitch this weekend, but that doesn’t mean that the team isn’t desperate to restore some firepower before they come a cropper.
Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner are going to be out a little longer, we know that. But what of the new additions to the injury log? Today’s open training session at Cobham revealed a little about how things were going.
Mason Mount isn't in attendance at the open training session Chelsea are doing before the Champions League clash with Malmo.
Youngster Harvey Vale is though.
Pulisic is there but unlikely to travel.
No Lukaku, Werner or Kovacic through injury. #CFC #UCL

Mateo Kovacic and Mason Mount didn’t feature – that means neither will be travelling to play Malmo tomorrow night.
Then there’s Christian Pulisic – he was there training for the second session in a row, but he’s still some time away from match fitness.
Harvey Vale, who popped up in training last week to make up the numbers and even featured on the bench against Southampton in the FA Cup, is also joining in. Could this week give him a chance to debut?
