The chances of Andreas Christensen signing a new contract at Chelsea have swung back and forth this year, and the last week or so have definitely given the sense he’s tending towards a new deal at the club.
But until we’ve got his name on paper nobody will relax, and that includes the teams looking to sign the defender for themselves.
Few have made themselves as obviously interested as AC Milan. The Corriere dello Sport have another report today where they claim that the Danish defender is a “very popular” name at Milanello.
But the reality is that Milan crashed out of the Champions League before the knockout stages this year, and face a season-long battle to qualify again next year.
Does Christensen really want to go and do that, when he’s currently a reigning European Cup holder, preparing to go and defend his title after the January window closes?
