It was only this morning that we were reporting on potential Chelsea interest in Presnel Kimpembe of PSG, and this afternoon we’ve heard some interesting snippets about existing interest in Parisian defenders.
L’Equipe note today that Chelsea were keen on Kimpembe’s defensive partner Marquinhos in the summer. They go as far as to claim that the Blues offered €85m for the centre back, only to see PSG turn them down.
It does add up – the Brazilian is a top class defender who knows Thomas Tuchel and Thiago Silva well. If Sevilla were asking more than €65m for Jules Kounde, you might as well see if you can sign one of the world’s very best for not that much more.
But signing players from PSG is no easy task.
We will see if we make another attempt this summer, should Antonio Rudiger leave the club – and should Seville stay strong on their Kounde asking price.
