Thomas Tuchel has just announced his team for tonight’s game against Watford, and there are an impressive 6 changes to the side that drew 1-1 with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
That 6 takes the German coach up to a total of 50 line-up changes this season. According to Sam Inkersole of Football.London, that is more than any other manager in the league – by a full 10.
That partly shows how deep our squad is, but it is also a consequence of our packed fixture schedule – and the load of injuries we’ve had, especially in the last couple of months.
Interesting stat: 50 team lineup changes Thomas Tuchel has made for #CFC so far this season. Ten more than any other manager in the Premier League.

Our front 3 tonight – Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount and Kai Havertz – were all out injured just a week ago, so it’s a relief to have them back.
Tonight’s changes are pretty extreme, and perhaps a little risky. But in the interests of keeping players fresh, Tuchel is never afraid to roll the dice.
Let’s hope it works out tonight.
