We have reached another Christmas Eve ladies and gents and that means some more Boxing Day drama is right around the corner.
Chelsea face Aston Villa in a fixture that has produced plenty of drama before, including a 4-4 draw on Boxing Day back in 2007.
It would be amazing if you guys subscribed for my project over at Si & Dan Talk Chelsea, where we are putting out so much Chelsea content including DAILY Newsletters, exclusive news, breaking news, Podcasts, interviews, inside information, and bringing in some massive guests!
Will we get another goal fest like that? As long as it’s Chelsea scoring them, yes!
Villa are now of course managed by Liverpool and England legend Steven Gerrard, and he has been facing media questions ahead of the game and was full of praise for one Chelsea player in particular.
Gerrard says that he is a ‘massive fan’ of Mason Mount and believes that he is one of the best players in the country currently.
Compliments do not come much better than that arriving from one of the best overall midfielders to ever play the game.
“I’ve watched his progress – of course I have,” Gerrard said as reported by The Daily Express.
“He’s a big talent for the country. I’m a massive fan of Mason,” Gerrard said.
“He plays with a smile on his face. He can create, he can score and he’s already a European Cup winner so I don’t think he needs the likes of myself to big him up or praise him.
“But I must say I’m a fan. I just hope he doesn’t have such a strong performance at the weekend.
“I think he’s only going to get better the more he plays and the more experience he gets.
“He’s already certainly one of the best players in the country. I have no doubts that he will be in the next squads for a lot of tournaments.”
