N’Golo Kante will not be in Brentford squad after “irresponsible” use in Wolves game

Thomas Tuchel is taking his press conference ahead of the game against Brentford tomorrow, and earlier on he had mentioned two injury absences for the game – Trevoh Chalobah and Andreas Christensen.

However later on he noted that there was no way N’Golo Kante was even going to be in the squad for the game. The midfielder was called into action for 90 minutes against Wolves with no preparation and just one training session under his belt after a month out.

Tuchel was forced into that situation because the league wouldn’t call the game off, and called ignoring the medical advice like that “irresponsible” in quotes picked up by Football.London.

We’re not really surprised – and it’s the right move. It’s only the Carabao Cup in the end, and playing the midfielder again is just a major unnecessary risk.

Let’s hope he’s ready for the Aston Villa game on Boxing Day – already just around the corner.
