N’Golo Kante has been out of action since the first half of our 4-0 win over Juventus in the Champions League – AKA the last game where Chelsea played well.
Despite that, the insane situation regarding our squad this week meant that he was called into action with just two full training session under his belt – and for the full 90 minutes too.
That’s not easy for any player, but for one who plays at 150% of normal speed and intensity, it’s almost impossible.

After the gam, Tariq Panja of the New York Times reported that there is “some concern” at Chelsea that Kante had hurt himself in the process.
We didn’t hear anything from Thomas Tuchel about that at the time, so it may just be the club briefing about it to point out just how unsafe it was to force them to play the match.
Let’s hope so. If the France star really is hurt again because of that, there will be a real feeling of injustice at Chelsea.
