Chelsea fired themselves through to the League Cup semi final on Wednesday evening beating Brentford 2-0 setting up a feisty tie against local neighbours Tottenham.
The semi final has always been a two-legged affair and the first leg will be played at Stamford Bridge on the 4th of January, just two days after Chelsea face Liverpool.

There has been so much talk of fixture congestion especially with Covid-19 cases rising, and players welfare has been rightly bought up.
This lead to calls that the League Cup should move to a one-legged affair in the semi finals to save extra games and over-playing.
However, according to BBC reporter Ian Dennis, there is ‘no appetite’ from the organisers to move it to a one-legged game because it will see them lose around £20m in sponsorship and TV fees.
There will be no appetite from the EFL to change the format of 2 legged semi finals to a one off cup tie. The removal of the 2nd leg would mean an estimated loss of around £20 million pounds because of sponsorship and broadcasting commitments.
