The erosion of Chelsea’s title hopes started with a painful dropped two points against Burnley in a game we dominated, and it ended here another two dropped in entirely different circumstances, with the Blues now surely out of the reckoning for good.
We would be saying that if we were taking on just Man City, but it’s worse than that. We also have to chase a dominant Liverpool team. Both those sides are flying, and we would do well to catch one of them now. Catching both looks impossible.
It’s a pity, and in a different world with a different set of injuries Chelsea could still be top right now, but the waves of issues we’ve had through November and December set us spinning, and the Covid absences this week finished us off.
There’s still the Champions League, and the FA Cup, and the EFL Cup, and the Club World Cup…
Fans on social media seem to have accepted that as the grim reality now:
Depleted today obviously, but only winning 2 in our last 7 games is a pretty dangerous slump. We need our full strength team back badly, but our performances in the last 7 have been lacklustre and we need to fix up big time.

Chelsea draw.
I feel lifeless. How can I even be angry? We are so depleted. Many of these guys just played 90 mins on Thursday. I’m not surprised whatsoever that we couldn’t find a goal. Shoutout to Silva, immense as per, and Kanté looking like classic Kanté immediately again.

Frustrating but not unexpected. COVID and injuries have ruined us.
Probably the title is over for us now. :/

There will be resentment this match even went ahead though from inside Chelsea (who asked for it to be cancelled). The players were warriors to put it to one side and produce a strong second half, but it doesn't help much for any PL title bid. #CFC #WOLCHE

Analyse this…
If you criticise that Chelsea performance after recent developments then you don't deserve Chelsea in your life.
Thank you

Why is the critique forever, “it’s the players fault!”
That’s not analysis, that’s surface judgement
It’s not the 1st time at all we’ve struggled to create clear chances in the final 3rd
It’s just overload wide and cross into the box

Pulisic could've been the hero; alas…
