Romelu Lukaku was back in the starting line up against Zenit in the week, and he started up top in a two alongside Timo Werner, who played well, scored two and set one up.
Kai Havertz is waiting patiently in the wings to step in and wants to play as well, and it is him who Tuchel has been signing the praises of this week via Chelsea’s 5th Stand App, as reported below by Chelsea news account, Absolute Chelsea.
Tuchel say Havertz has a ‘unique style’ and can play in ‘any position’ on the pitch. There’s been a lot of debate on what his best position is, but Tuchel feels he can do well in the 9, or the 10.
Thomas Tuchel:
"He is in a good place. Even in a match like Watford where everybody was a bit struggling, he had a good performance. So, I am happy with him in the moment."

Thomas Tuchel:
"I just want him to do what he is doing on the best level. He has fantastic potential, and he is still super young. I think adaption happens anyway because the league and opponents and the club where he is we demand it."
