Chelsea’s squad is still recovering from an injury crisis, and it now has a wave of coronavirus infections to deal with.
Despite that – and despite the swathe of cancelled games in the Premier League this week, Thomas Tuchel says that he did not ask for tonight’s match against Everton (themselves hit hard by injury) to be postponed.
Tuchel also confirms he didn't ask for the game to be postponed tonight. "At some point it’s getting difficult in terms of overuse of players, but I was not involved in these thoughts." #CFC

As you can see in the quotes above, the Chelsea coach admitted that some of his squad will be utterly burned out by the last few months, but as always he’s avoided the chances for too many excuses.
Thomas Tuchel on #Chelsea's COVID-19 situation:
"The results are the results and the situation is the situation. We still have a strong squad and one we want to push forward, and that should be able to compete. Like always, we focus on the guys who are there."

“We have a strong squad and one we want to push forward.”
That’s been his line throughout the injury issues, and he’s not changing his tune now. We adore his commitment to not taking the easy excuses offered to him.
At this rate, it’s just good to be able to tick another game off the fixture list, while other teams let their pending pile of matches grow.
