It’s about a year since Antonio Rudiger’s lowest point as a Chelsea player.
Dropped by Frank Lampard after some really bad performances, the defender looked certain to be leaving the club in January.
But Lampard’s sacking in January meant the arrival of Thomas Tuchel, which is where things really turned around for Rudiger. Speaking to Sky Sports today, he said that the German coach “opened a new door” for him at Chelsea.
Now he’s one of the best defenders in Europe – the question is, will he stay at Chelsea, or walk back through that door?
