Chelsea’s midfield injury crisis has meant lots of minutes for Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and in particular it’s meant the midfielder playing deeper than he has done in the past.
He was asked about it in the Champions League press conference yesterday ahead of what will likely be another start for Thomas Tuchel’s team, and RLC explained that he was just happy to be playing a lot, and would slot in wherever his coach needed him.
Zenit should give him plenty of time and space compared to some Premier League teams, so we should really get to see him at the top of his game tonight.
