Ruben Loftus-Cheek is being deployed as more of a deep lying midfielder than anything else in this current team, keeping the ball moving rather than getting forward.
But in games like this it’s vital he contributes in attack, and today his best moment came as he did a lovely reverse turn between two Everton players.
It came to nothing in the end, but it’s the kind of ambitious play we will need if we want to get anything from this game against the Toffees’ massed ranks.
