Marcos Alonso is one of the players in this Chelsea squad who already have a Premier League winners medal.
He was asked in an interview with Sky Sports today about how things had changed since that 2017 title with Conte, and he had some interesting thoughts.
He pointed out that the top teams are always very good – but his theory is that the middle and lower ranked teams in the division are raising standards.
“They are getting better and better” he asserted, pointing to their increasing physicality and the cash flooding in at the lower levels.
You can see the defender speaking in the clip embedded here:
"I think the mid-table and low-table [teams] are getting better and better."
