Chelsea were very poor against Watford last night, and ultimately were very lucky to walk away with three points.
Asked about his team’s performance after the game, Thomas Tuchel wasn’t too grumpy because they’d won – but he did note a few tactical issues.
He pointed to the decision making in defence as bad, helping Watford’s press, and noted that his players seemed to need an extra second on the ball.
That explains the introduction of Thiago Silva, whose presence really changed things in terms of our distribution from the back.
