Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea have had some bad results in recent weeks, and the manager was asked today whether he had considered a tactical change to respond.
He shot the question down at source, rejecting the idea it was a tactical issue because, as he pointed out, his team had played the same way in every game.
Instead he points to a mental issue of his teams relaxing when they need to keep their levels high.
The word he keeps coming back to is “investment” – in this case he described how his players dropped to 90% “investment” after taking the lead in recent games, and ended up being punished.
