(Video): “Very, very responsible” – Chelsea left out two players who tested negative for Covid

Chelsea have been decimated by positive Covid cases this week, but they’ve also had to leave out players testing negative just through pure caution.

Manager Thomas Tuchel pointed this out today, saying his club had been “very, very responsible” in the way they had dealt with Kai Havertz and Jorginho in the Everton and Wolves games respectively, not allowing them to join the squad despite negative or uncertain tests, simply because they seemed unwell.

As he noted, his team had really needed Havertz in particular, given the absence of so many other attackers.
