Thomas Tuchel has just taken his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Liverpool on Sunday, and the Chelsea coach was of course asked about his team’s crippling injury situation.
Reece James left the game against Brighton hurt on Wednesday night, and when asked about the full back’s status after the game, Tuchel wasn’t able to answer because the necessary scans hadn’t been done.
Games are coming so think and fast now that he was asked again today – and still didn’t know the extent of the issue.
Of course this is because it’s still so soon since the last game, but also because the medical teams tend to leave the scan for longer after the injury when it comes to muscle injuries, as the manager explained.
This allows more of the swelling and internal damage to calm down, so the scan comes out better. We will now probably have to wait for the presser after the Liverpool game for more info.
